Toothpaste, Oil Pulling and V34: The Correct Order

Jul 23, 2026Elixio

When several products are part of one routine, order matters because coconut oil pulling, whitening toothpaste and V34 serve different purposes.

A practical three-step order

  1. Coconut oil pulling.
  2. Brush with toothpaste.
  3. Apply V34 Colour Corrector.

Step 1: coconut oil pulling

Oil pulling is usually done before brushing. Move the measured amount gently around the mouth without swallowing it. Spit it into a bin rather than the sink. It is an optional addition and does not replace brushing or interdental cleaning.

See Elixio Coconut Oil Pulling Mouthwash and read how long to oil pull.

Step 2: brush with toothpaste

Brush all tooth surfaces for about two minutes. Technique, gentle pressure and sufficient time matter more than using a large amount. Elixio Activated Charcoal Whitening Toothpaste helps remove surface stains but cannot change the natural colour of dentine.

Step 3: V34 Colour Corrector

Use V34 on clean teeth and follow its directions. Purple colour correction may temporarily reduce the appearance of yellow tones. It does not replace brushing and is not permanent whitening.

Can you change the order?

Using oil after toothpaste may rinse away ingredients left after brushing. Applying V34 before brushing may reduce its visual effect because toothpaste can remove it.

Morning or evening?

Many people oil pull in the morning. Toothpaste remains essential morning and evening. V34 can be used when an optical effect is desired, such as before a photograph or event. All three products do not need to be used at every brushing.

Common mistakes

  • Swallowing used oil.
  • Replacing brushing with oil pulling.
  • Brushing too hard.
  • Applying V34 before brushing.
  • Expecting permanent colour change from a corrector.

Consult a dentist about pain, strong sensitivity, decay or gum problems.
